Why do I keep getting disconnected from AIM while on the dorm network?

Here are some pointers to make sure your AIM client is correctly configured to work with the MCLA dorm network.

  • Ensure that your AIM client is configured to connect to the default port: 5190. You can check this in the settings area of your AIM client.

Note: Some AIM functions are deliberately blocked by the MCLA dorm network such as file transfer and talk.
