Data Loss Prevention policies are in place to help identify, monitor, and protect sensitive information across Office 365. Financial data or personally identifiable information  such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, or health records are sensitive information that should be protected from inadvertent exposure. To that end, Office 365 applications and services are equipped to provide users with relevant policy information when handling documents containing sensitive information.

Policy Tips

Policy tips such as the one featured below may appear in any of the Office 365 applications or services when sensitive data is detected. These tips allow users to bring documents into compliance with privacy policy.
