== Compatibility issues ==
By default Office 2007 saves files in a new format that is not understood by older versions, although a Save As... option can be used to create files in the older format.  Microsoft has published a [http://techhelp.mcla.edu/converter compatibility patch] for Office 2003 that will allow it to read and write the new format.  To maintain compatibility while we roll out the upgrade we will distribute the patch to all Office 2003 users.
