Sophos Anti-Virus is provided to students free of charge.

Installing Sophos Anti-Virus

If you are running Windows XP, are on-campus and logged into any of our networks you should be able to install Sophos Antivirus by following the steps below.

• Click the "Start" menu.
• Click "Run".
• Faculty and staff should type the following: \\facav\sophos5\facxp\setup
• Students should type the following: \\stuav\sophos5\xp\setup
• Please note, there is no difference in the products provided to students, faculty or staff. The update settings are the only difference between the two installation locations.
• You should be prompted to log in. Use "guest" as the username and leave the password blank.
• You should then be prompted to provide a username and password again. Again, enter "guest" for the username and leave the password field blank.
• The rest of the installation is automatic.
