Guide to Self-Service Banner log in problems

The purpose of this guide is to help those users having issues logging into Self Service Banner.

Common Error Messages when logging into Self-Service Banner



Web stop.gifAuthorization Failure - Invalid User ID or PIN.

This means you have entered a wrong MCLA user ID or PIN. This message will also appear if you have clicked 'Forgot PIN?' without entering your MCLA User ID. The MCLA User ID must be your student ID number (A number). The A must be capitalized. If you do not know your Student ID number or believe you may have the wrong one, please refer to the following guide:

The PIN must be a 6 digit number that you selected upon the first time you signed into Self-Service Banner. If you are logging into Self-Service Banner for the first time and do not have an existing PIN, please refer to the following guide:

Web stop.gifAuthorization Failure - Security Question is not setup.

This occurs when you use the 'FORGOT PIN?' feature and have never logged into Self-Service Banner before. Before logging into Self-Service Banner you must first set up your Banner account. Please refer to the following guide to help you set up your Banner account.

Web stop.gifYour Web access has been disabled.

This occurs when you have tried to log in too many times with the wrong PIN. Ensure you are using a 6 digit PIN number rather than your MCLA Account password. At this point, you must stop attempts to login and wait 20 mins until your account is unlocked. For more information about PINs and how to reset them, read the following guides:
